Like the word “occult,” apocalypse does not mean what most people believe it does.
The original Greek word “apokalypse” means uncovering. The prefix “apo” means to undo, not, or away from, and “kalypse” means covered or to cover and is the origin of “eclipse.” An apo-eclipse would be the phase of an eclipse where the moon moves out of the way of the sun.
Therefore, an apocalypse is actually a wonderful thing. It is a broad or extensive uncovering of a hidden truth. It’s worth considering why the words “occult” (meaning hidden) and apocalypse are both equally misunderstood.
Furthermore, why do you think so-called apocalyptic stories are always about the end of the civilized world? It’s always portrayed as a terrible, destructive event that leads to death for the many and desperation for the survivors.
Well, I don’t believe a massive uncovering of hidden truth means the end of the world for anyone other than those responsible for covering it up.
