New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made headlines again earlier this week — because of course she did — this time for suggesting that people her age should opt out of starting their own families because it will put unnecessary strain on the planet.
We’ve known for a long time now that progressives aren’t fond of families as a general concept. When you look at voting demographics, it makes sense: married women, for example, are at least twice as likely to pull the lever for a Republican than single women are. This likelihood increases even more when this hypothetical woman has children.
In other words, the easiest way to predict a child’s voting preferences is to look the family they are raised by. So, if socialists want to us all to stop having children because of climate change or whatever else, our response as conservatives should be very simple: you first.
There is no way this will backfire on them or anything.
