A lawyer for more than 100 people who say they are victims of the horrible crimes against rapper and business mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs said that a list of “many important people” will be made public.
Attorney Tony Buzbee said those things at a press meeting in Houston, Texas, on Tuesday.
“There are lots of people who are very scared. You can’t keep secrets forever.”
“We will bring to light the people who allowed this behavior to happen behind closed doors. We will look into this no matter who the information points the finger at,” he said.
People accuse Combs of many crimes connected to parties where drugs, drink, and sex without consent were present. The federal government charged Combs with criminal plots, sex trafficking, and transporting prostitutes across state lines.
“There are a lot of names that we could use instead of Sean Combs… the day will come. There’s already a big list, but because of how this case works, we’re going to make damn sure we’re right before we do that,” Buzbee said.
He said, “The names will shock you.”
Powerful people who were at the parties, according to the lawyer, supported the abuse at his parties, which started in 1991 and mostly took place in California, New York, Georgia, and Florida. As evidence for a case, he told some of the horrible stories of claimed victims.
Some of those people who claimed to be Buzbee’s partners asked for help.
“These people should just come forward now if they know who they are,” he said. “There must be a lot of people who are very nervous right now as we talk. You can’t keep secrets forever. I’m sure there are a lot of people out there right now digging through their old files and texts to find something they remember.”
The claimed victim was as young as 9 years old when the abuse happened, according to Buzbee.
