The Brittney Griner memes have been over the top for the past few days, ever since she was sentenced to 9 years in a Russian prison. This one raises a natural question: Whose fault is it that Brittney Griner is in a Russian prison, anyway? Is it your fault? Nope! It’s Brittney’s fault.
On the one hand, we do feel kind of bad for the gigantic WNBA player. Being in a Russian prison has never sounded like a fun thing to do.
On the other hand, Brittney Griner tried to smuggle marijuana into Russia using her vaping toys. Just because weed products are legal in Arizona, where she plays for the Phoenix Mercury, doesn’t mean that weed products are legal in Russia. Nor should they be. Russian soil, Russian laws.
Maybe we’re just too pampered here in America where laws are now selectively enforced based on your political beliefs. But the Russians don’t play that way. It doesn’t matter how woke Brittney Griner is, or how much of an America-hating social justice warrior she is. If you do the Russian crime, you’re going to do the Russian time.

Her fault she is in jail anyone with a brain knows that just because some drugs are legal in one country doesn’t mean they are legal in another country. She should have checked on what the laws on drugs are in Russia before she took marijuana to Russia then she would be in one of their prisons
