Donald Trump has once again delivered a scathing takedown of Democrat policies, linking their incompetence to the devastating attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day. Fifteen lives were tragically lost when Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old Army veteran, drove a pickup truck into revelers on Bourbon Street. While the FBI has confirmed Jabbar’s allegiance to ISIS, Trump didn’t hold back in laying the blame on weak Democratic leadership and their obsession with open borders.
“This is what happens when you have open borders, with weak, ineffective, and virtually nonexistent leadership,” Trump declared on Truth Social. “Our country is breaking down—a violent erosion of safety, national security, and democracy is taking place all across our nation.”
While officials later confirmed Jabbar was a U.S.-born citizen, the incident underscores a much larger problem: Democrats’ inability to prioritize national security. Instead of addressing pressing threats, they’ve spent years weaponizing federal agencies against their political enemies. Trump’s post slammed the Department of Justice, FBI, and Democrat prosecutors for failing to protect Americans, accusing them of being “incompetent and corrupt.”
Jabbar’s ties to ISIS are undeniable. Investigators found an ISIS flag and explosive devices in his rented truck. Videos posted by Jabbar before the attack revealed his allegiance to the terrorist organization and a chilling “desire to kill.” Yet, instead of focusing on real threats like this, Democrats have been busy enabling chaos with their open-border policies and soft-on-crime approach.
President Joe Biden, in his usual lackluster style, issued a short statement from Camp David. While he condemned the attack as terrorism, his administration’s track record on national security speaks volumes. Under Biden’s watch, America’s enemies have been emboldened, and tragedies like New Orleans and the Las Vegas Cybertruck explosion—another terrorist-linked incident on the same day—highlight the dangerous consequences of his weak leadership.
Trump, meanwhile, promised decisive action upon taking office on January 20. He reiterated his commitment to restoring law and order, securing the border, and taking the fight to America’s enemies. “Only strength and powerful leadership will stop it,” Trump said, vowing to “Make America Great Again.”
