Trump Targeted? Explosive Epstein Allegations Shake Foundations

It’s the kind of claim that lights social media on fire: a former police officer says Jeffrey Epstein was offered freedom if he’d lie about Donald Trump. Even more shocking, he says the offer came from Maurene Comey — a federal prosecutor and the daughter of former FBI Director James Comey.

So, is this just another wild conspiracy theory, or is there something more to it?

Let’s look at the facts.

The claim comes from Nicholas Tartaglione, a former police officer who shared a jail cell with Epstein in 2019. Tartaglione is not exactly a model citizen. He was convicted of kidnapping and murdering four men over a failed drug deal. In 2024, he was sentenced to four life terms. That said, what he alleges about Epstein is serious and deserves a closer look.

According to a report by the New York Post, Tartaglione says that Epstein told him in jail that prosecutors were pressuring him to name Trump in connection with Epstein’s sex crimes. Specifically, Epstein allegedly said that Maurene Comey—then a lead prosecutor on the case—told him that he would “walk free” if he gave them dirt on Trump. Even more stunning, Epstein supposedly said that Comey told him he didn’t even need to prove it—just accuse Trump, and let the FBI handle the rest.

This claim was included in Tartaglione’s official application for a pardon, filed in July 2024. In that document, he also said that Epstein told him Trump “was not involved in Epstein’s crimes.”

Let’s pause here.

Maurene Comey is indeed the daughter of James Comey, the former FBI Director famously fired by President Trump in 2017. James Comey later became a vocal critic of Trump, backing the now-debunked Russia collusion theory. His daughter working on the prosecution of Epstein—a man linked to many powerful people—already raised eyebrows. But if what Tartaglione says is true, it raises much bigger questions.

Now, let’s be honest: Tartaglione is not the most trustworthy man. He’s a convicted murderer, and his pardon request includes claims that other police officers framed him and that he’s been the target of multiple attempts on his life. These could be self-serving statements, meant to paint him as a victim.

But just because someone has a bad background doesn’t automatically mean they’re lying. Tartaglione had nothing to gain by throwing Comey’s name into the mix unless he believed it might help his case. And let’s not forget—Epstein himself was found dead under suspicious circumstances just weeks after sharing a cell with Tartaglione.

Officially, Epstein’s death was ruled a suicide. But the cameras outside his cell mysteriously stopped working, and the guards who were supposed to check on him fell asleep. These facts have fueled ongoing suspicion that Epstein may have been silenced to protect powerful people.

So what does all this mean?

Right now, Tartaglione’s claims are unproven. There is no hard evidence—such as recordings or documents—showing that Maurene Comey made the offer Epstein allegedly described. But the claim fits into a troubling pattern: the use of the justice system to target political enemies.

It’s worth noting that Trump himself has called for the release of all Epstein-related documents, including grand jury testimony. Democrats in Congress are also pushing for the release of thousands of files, though some Republicans worry that innocent people could be unfairly exposed if names are not redacted.

The truth about Epstein’s connections and what really happened in that jail cell may still be buried. But Tartaglione’s explosive claim adds one more layer to a mystery that refuses to go away.

It’s a story that touches on power, corruption, and the possibility that the justice system was used to take down a sitting president.

And until the full truth comes out, the questions will only grow louder.
