Former President Donald Trump has scheduled a big campaign event for later this month at New York’s famous Madison Square Garden (MSG). He is down to the last few weeks of his 2024 presidential campaign.
The news of the large gathering backs up what Trump told Alexander Marlow, Editor-in-Chief of Breitbart News, and Matthew Boyle, Washington Political Editor, in December, when he first talked about the move.
“But we’re also going to do these other places. It will be a big move. There’s no better place for me to hold a show than Madison Square Garden, right?”
Now, sources have told the New York Post that the Republican campaign event will happen on Oct. 27, nine days before the election.
The gathering will take place in Midtown Manhattan and will be for anyone who shows up first.
Last month, Trump, who is 78 years old, held a party at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island, with about 16,000 people.
The former president held a gathering in the Bronx this summer that brought about 10,000 Trump fans to Crotona Park, which could only hold 3,500 people with a permit, according to the Post.
There were Democratic National Conventions at MSG in 1924, 1976, 1980, and 1992, and a Republican National Convention there in 2004.
The campaign is likely to tell supporters about the gathering in an official email on Wednesday, sources told the Post.
