This Public Service Announcement Brought to You by the Coronavirus

Okay, admit it. Just as we all think “Wu-Tang!” every time a TV announcer says “Wuhan” these days, we also picture a bottle of Corona beer every time someone mentions the Coronavirus outbreak.

Sadly, some people are even googling “Corona beer virus” when they first hear about the outbreak. Just for clarity’s sake: Corona beer = a type of beer named Corona. Coronavirus = genetically modified superbug, possibly created with the help of a Harvard nanoscientist who was just arrested for spying for the Chinese government.

There is some good advice in this meme, though. Wearing a face mask may protect you from some harmful pathogens that can be transmitted from person to person. These illnesses can include the common cold, the flu and possibly even the Coronavirus which has nothing to do with Corona beer.

Also remember that while the Coronavirus is nasty, so far it is far less fatal for people who contract it than the common flu itself.

One last piece of advice from Facts Not Memes: Try not to give yourself a case of “Dos Equis flu.” That one is the worst to try to recover from…speaking from experience.
