This is Why We Don’t Let High Schoolers Vote

You’ve heard about the Tide pod eating challenge — the utterly absurd viral trend wherein younger individuals filmed themselves eating laundry detergent, claiming the small items looked appetizing. The trend ended with numerous cases of illness and possible death.

Now, it’s time for Tide pods to move over, because the really cool kids are snorting condoms now. That’s right — the latest challenge (which of course involves filming yourself for the entire internet to see) involves ingesting a prophylactic through your nostril, and pulling it out of your mouth.

For the sake of western civilization’s future, we can only hope these kids uncover the actual use for these devices, and employ it religiously.

Of course, the amount of youngsters actually participating in this wild fad make up a dramatically small proportion of the entire cohort. However, this is a huge part of why it’s hard to take teenagers seriously when they ask for things like repealing the Second Amendment.

This post is not meant to disparage all young people. Almost every generation has been forced to move on from its cringe-worthy past. This is because the human brain isn’t fully developed until an individual reaches his or her mid-20s. Before this occurs, the most powerful part of the brain is the amygdala — which regulates impulse. This is why teenagers do stupid things, and will continue to do so for the rest of time. Hopefully, that will not include ripping the Constitution to pieces…
