This Communist Monopoly Board Explains Marxism Perfectly

If the classic board game of Monopoly was good for anything, it was instructing children that individuals who are willing to take the most risks and put in the most time into whatever they’re doing tend to end up with the most resources.

Through a Marxist lens, this is the epitome of class warfare and systemic economic oppression. Because individuals are able to access a disproportionate amount of wealth in a capitalist system, socialists and progressives argue such a system creates deep divides within society.

Of course, in socialism, everyone is equal — equally poor.

This is the critique we see in this satirical image, which shows a classic Monopoly board redrawn to reflect what Marxists see as a more moral economic setting. Of course, there’s a gulag in every corner, as such a top-down system requires an explicitly authoritarian form of government to function.

Now, seriously sit back and ask yourself: which system is more fair?
