There Are Bad Ideas and Then There’s Socialism…

Nearly half of the members of Generation Z now say they would prefer socialism as the new
form of government to replace our Constitution. Hopefully, memes like this one will lead to a
conversation that can help an adult explain to new college grads why socialism isn’t quite as
ducky as their gender studies professor says it is.

The argument that we always hear from the left when we point out real-world examples of
socialism is, “Well, that wasn’t real socialism.” It’s always the same. Those countries were not
doing socialism right! Or, they just had the wrong people in charge.

And yet, the result of socialism is always the power going out (and never coming back on),
people breaking into the local zoo to feed their family, and rafts made out of trash like this one.

Maybe the argument is that socialism truly allows people to tap into their creativity? Just look at the elegance of this socialist life raft! If you walked into your garage right now and found all of that junk laying there in a pile, could you build a raft from it that was capable of sailing across the Mediterranean or the Gulf of Mexico?
