The Real Choice Americans will Make in November

We couldn’t have summed up the choice Americans have better if we tried…

Under Republican leadership, the sluggish economic recovery that characterized the latter days of the Obama era got the jolt it needed to transform into the vibrant powerhouse it is today. We’ve said it many times before but it’s worth repeating: 4 percent GDP growth was thought to be impossible — economists who supported the Obama Administration told us this. Under President Donald Trump, we’ve seen that exact figure for several fiscal quarters in a row.

There is a reason the Democratic Party isn’t running a campaign on the economy — because they can’t. As much as former President Barack Obama wants to take credit for the way things have been since he left the White House, he has no claim on record low unemployment, or historic trade deals, or really anything economically positive. The Obama era was a time of economic stagnation — a time when the United States saw its credit rating downgrade for the first time ever.

The only thing we can count on in the event of a Democratic midterm victory is more mobs — either the type that tries to claw the doors of the Supreme Court open, or the type that will stifle economic growth in Congress just so Trump can’t run on a good economy in 2020. All of this is possible if the Democrats retake control.
