The internet has been flooded with memes about actor and former pro wrestler John Cena’s groveling apology to Communist China this week. But this is the only meme we’ve found so far that isn’t filled with NSFW language!
In case you hadn’t guessed, almost everyone in America is suddenly filled with loathing for Cena after the hostage video he recorded. After referring to Taiwan as a country, Cena was forced by his Chinese masters to basically roll around on the ground and wet himself like a scared puppy. He issued the apology in Chinese and never actually said what he was apologizing for.
It was like a new level of cringe as far as public apologies go. He could have manned up and told China that as an American, he’s free to say anything he wants to. But, no. Cena metaphorically put on a little dress and sacrificed his dignity for money.
His Chinese masters demanded an apology, otherwise they’d ban Cena’s latest dumb movie in China. Bootlicking cowardice doesn’t even begin to describe that apology.
