Facing the fiercest partisan opposition by the Democratic party in history, President Donald J. Trump has implemented the most pro-American agenda in his first 100 days since Franklin D. Roosevelt.
During his first three months in office, Trump signed 13 Congressional Review Act resolutions that removed the job-killing regulations imposed by the Obama Administration, issued more than two dozen executive orders and signed 28 pieces of legislation.
Trump’s first 100 days have moved at break-neck speed. While the president has taken a few political losses in the courts, he has turned the far-left agenda on its head and laid the foundation for the restoration of conservative American values.
Restoring the American Dream
The previous administration’s policies were steeped in irony. Obama and the left touted slogans such as “Hope” and “Change,” striving to save the world while destroying the financial futures of many American working families.
During the Obama presidency, full-time employment hit a 10-year low mid-term, and added only 2 million jobs in eight years. That stands as the fewest full-time job growth in decades. Making matters worse, the population grew by more than 20 million. By contrast, President Trump added more than 500,000 full-time jobs in merely 100 days.
Since taking office, Trump brought in American business leaders to hear their concerns and ideas about how to grow the economy and create jobs. Despite an obstructionist left that slow-walked major cabinet appointments, he’s already rolled back governmental overreach and key regulations that impeded the economy. In many respects, the coal industry has emerged as the poster-child of the problems that previously hamstrung the American worker.
During the presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton let slip she planned to close a lot of coal mines. Meanwhile, the Obama Administration had targeted the industry through agencies such as the EPA.
The working-class coal families and communities are the very heart of the difference between Trump’s 100 days and Obama’s elitism. Coal workers are often people living in small Americana towns. The jobs support families and communities that aspire to provide a better life for their children and their children’s children. They are the embodiment of the American Dream.
Resurrecting coal has become iconic. The job-creating actions that back up slogans such as “Buy America, Hire American” provide hope to everyday Americans.
Leading from the Front
It may be the case that no president micromanaged or had less trust in military leaders than Obama. The result of handcuffing America’s generals, admirals and weak foreign policy contributed heavily to the rise of ISIS. Trump stands as the exact opposite of those lead-from-behind strategies.
Since becoming Commander-in-Chief, Trump has openly supported Reagan-era attitudes about “peace through strength”, and ordered an immediate military strike against Syrian forces for using chemical weapons. The era of strategic patience, unending diplomacy, and imaginary red lines in the sand are over. In 100 days, America has become a nation of action.
To that end, the real-estate-mogul-turned-politician appears to have placed his full confidence in the country’s top brass. Military operations are now carried out with the strategic goal of defeating ISIS and its affiliates based on battlefield assessments. The touchstone for this trust in military leaders was best highlighted by dropping the Mother of All Bombs, or MOAB.
The MOAB strike was deployed without the need for Congressional pre-approval. The strike eliminated approximately 100 enemy insurgents, and destroyed an important terrorist stronghold.
The Power of Women
The identity politics that have sought to pit races, ethnicities and men and women against each other have been acutely absent from the Trump Administration. Rather than decry bias and wage disparities, the president has actively met with female business leaders and signed the “INSPIRE Women Act” into law.
The measure pushes for more women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. The president also appointed professional wrestling industry magnate Linda McMahon to head the Small Business Administration.
While the president works on job creation across the board, First Daughter Ivanka Trump appears to be a lightning rod for the advancement of women. It’s no secret she has considerable influence and her father may be empowering the most powerful First Daughter in American history.
The Law and Order Administration
Illegal immigration has resulted in more than 11 million people entering the country unlawfully. For Democrats, they clearly see future voters and are willing to curse the rule of law for political gain. The Trump Administration and U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions have made it clear there’s a new sheriff in D.C.
Session and Department of Homeland Security chief John Kelly have gone after dangerous, criminal illegal aliens. The philosophy has been to target violent offenders first, but deport those who are here illegally across the board.
In less than 100 days, border crossings are reportedly down 67 percent, a 17-year low, and many non-citizens are moving to Canada. In a very brief period, Trump has begun reversing the tide on an illegal immigration issue that has plagued the country for decades.
Restoring Fairness for American Workers
Another major issue the president campaigned on was fair trade. Since taking office, he’s met with other world leaders to address unfair trade practices that hurt American workers. While unfair deals with China and Mexico were at the forefront of his speeches, the Chinese halted the practice of money manipulation after Trump won the election.
China’s Pres. Xi Jinping has engaged with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, aka the Southern White House, and relations appear to be headed in the right direction.
Already, the Chinese have joined the U.S. in imposing sanctions on North Korea in the wake of the rogue nation’s nuclear weapons program. A revised 100-day trade agreement is being hashed out aimed at restoring a level playing field and lowering America’s trade deficit with the Asian super power. These are major steps, not baby steps.
If you look past the left’s political rancor, Donald Trump has aggressively implemented an agenda designed to restore security and opportunity for hard-working Americans and their families, and that is Making America Great Again.
