It’s hard to imagine how slapping a celebrity’s quote over a picture of one of them constitutes an actual argument, but this is essentially the default approach for many leftist pages across the social media sphere.
Recently, musician Stevie Wonder delivered what we could only expect to be expert commentary on climate change and how weather works. According to musician, hurricanes Harvey and Irma are the penultimate argument for climate change — suggesting that the current represents the worst of the worst for Atlantic storm activity.
The problem is that none of this is true.
According to Weather Underground, 2017 is far and away from being the worst Atlantic storm season on record. In fact, the highest measured season occurred in 2005, with 28 storms. Of course, progressives might use this to prove their point, but this argument already falls apart when 1933 rolls in at second place with 20 storms.
