Squatters Takeover America – Will Biden Do Anything?

Homeowners in America are often under the impression that they are safe from unauthorized property seizures.

However, in many states and towns, people can use laws meant to protect renters from seizing ownership of property in spite of protests from the legitimate owners. This is not only unethical, but it also violates the rights to private property, which our forefathers held in the highest regard.

Squatting is a growing problem that has gotten worse in recent years due to the millions of unauthorized border crossings.

An illegal immigrant from Venezuela named Leonel Moreno’s TikTok videos went viral earlier this year, infuriating Americans who respect property rights and the rule of law by inciting migrants to “invade” vacant homes in the United States.

In 2022, Moreno entered the country through Eagle Pass, Texas, and then neglected to show up for an ICE check-in. The New York Post claims that in March 2024, ICE arrested him.

In one video, Moreno stated, “I did not cross the Rio Grande to work like a slave.” “I came to the United States to claim territory.”

An invasion is taking place at our southern border, posing a unique threat to our country.

Individuals are breaking the law when they enter our nation and, in certain situations, when they remain in the country.

By opening our border and providing no justifiable consequences for crossing it, President Joe Biden and his administration are exacerbating this problem while simultaneously endangering the lives and property of Americans.

According to James Burling, vice president of legal affairs at the Pacific Legal Foundation, this has contributed to the rapid development of squatting, along with housing shortages and eviction moratoriums from the COVID-19 era, Fox News said. There are several instances of both legal and non-legal immigrants in America assuming ownership of properties that are not theirs.

A toddler under ten years old was among the numerous undocumented immigrants discovered squatting in a Bronx home in March, according to CBS News, carrying firearms along with bags of cocaine and ketamine. The house was next to a school in a neighborhood that another homeowner called “Calm.”

The homeowner expressed his worry at the time, saying, “I genuinely fear that these people are going to get away with robbing my home.”

A self-described “professional squatter” in Chicago displaced a woman who had recently inherited the house from her late mother. Before being eventually forced out of the house, the squatter supposedly occupied it for months.

And squatters in a suburb of Atlanta have converted a five-bedroom, 4,000-square-foot house into an illegal strip club, complete with live horses.

Does America even exist anymore? One neighbor expressed distress to the New York Post, saying, “We are homeowners, and we cannot even do something about trespassers.”

All around America, similar situations are unfolding, endangering the liberties and private property rights of far too many people. In Europe, there is even a political movement that supports this dishonest behavior. This must end, and the property owner must regain control of the situation.

Litigant owners may incur thousands of dollars in legal bills, property damages, and lost income during the prolonged period it takes to evict illegal squatters.

No American homeowner should have to leave their house for any length of time, much less years, due to dishonest people trying to take advantage of the legal system. The problem is that too many states make it extremely simple.

For instance, in California, squatters are allegedly able to assert tenant rights after only 30 days of possession, necessitating legal eviction proceedings on the part of real property owners in order to remove them. According to the National Desk, several other states provide similar protections.

Tennessee has tightened its legal framework to safeguard private property rights and homeowners.

Owners of real estate ought to be able to reclaim their property right away. Squatters in the Volunteer State do not have any rights, yet filing for a court eviction can take some time.

That is the reason I fought to have new legislation passed that forbids squatters from holding any Tennessean hostage. With the help of this law, property owners in this state can regain control of their belongings in as little as 72 hours, thanks to an expedited removal procedure. It also enables the local sheriff to take trespassers into custody.

This sensible strategy puts law-abiding citizens above entitled criminals.

The American goal is to buy a home, and squatting puts that aspiration in jeopardy. By refusing to enforce our immigration rules, the Biden administration has completely lost any sense of reason and placed Americans in grave danger. When and where possible, states should enact legislation to address this issue.

To ensure that no American faces losing their land to squatters, I urge other state leaders to follow Tennessee’s, Florida’s, and other conservative strongholds’ examples in defending property rights.
