According to Tucker Carlson, there is a “spiritual struggle” going on in the US as a result of the failed murder attempt on Donald Trump.
Speaking at a Heritage Foundation event before the Republican National Convention, Carlson expressed his belief that assaults such as the one that took place at Trump’s Butler, Pennsylvania, campaign rally are the product of “deeper” forces, such as evil.
“They become furious because of Jesus’ faith, which raises the possibility that something a bit deeper is going on here.”
“I think the murder attempt on President Trump on Saturday either reminded or made many people aware of this,” Carlson said on Monday.
“A spiritual conflict is raging,” he continued. An explanation for what we are currently witnessing is illogical. It’s simply not possible. These distinctions are not political. There are forces whose sole objective is chaos, violence, and devastation, and they are now quite visible; they have chosen, for whatever reason, to remove the mask.”
Carlson claims that the forces he named are “committed to the annihilation of humans,” and he thinks that Christians are their shared adversary.
“It took me ten years or so to solve this. Not that I’m incredibly smart, but which group do they detest the most? Which group do they aspire to eradicate and harbor such fear for? It’s Christians, after all. He declared, “It’s Christians; that’s who.”
“People who pray outside abortion clinics, people who celebrate Easter instead of Trans Visibility Day, and Christian nationalism are some of the things that, I suppose, most provoke them—Christians,” Carlson continued.
Carlson used historical revolutions as evidence to support his claims, citing the French, Russian, and Spanish revolutions, among others.
“What enrages them is Jesus’ faith, which raises the possibility that something a bit more sinister is at play here,” he stated.
Not only that, they obstruct traffic. Christians barely obstruct anything. They’re the most harmonious individuals on the planet,” Carlson went on. “They worship a god who commands them to turn the other cheek, not harm others, and to pray for the one who persecutes them. So they’re not exactly bothersome. Despite being completely non-disruptive, they are considered the enemy.
Carlson has already issued warnings about a continuous spiritual conflict.
Earlier this year, Carlson asserted that the political disputes in the United States, which seem to be increasingly existential in nature, illustrate a conflict that is not based on physical contact.
The words used here bear resemblance to what the apostle Paul wrote nearly two millennia ago in one of his works.
Paul said in the book of Ephesians, “For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers of this dark world, and against the evil forces in the supernatural realms.”
