David Hogg’s latest stunt, floating the idea of running for vice chairman of the Democratic National Committee, is as laughable as it is predictable. The self-proclaimed gun control activist, whose main claim to fame is capitalizing on tragedy, made his announcement during a CNN interview. Hogg claimed he’s considering the position because the Democratic Party needs “a new generation” of leadership. Sure, because what the Democrats really need right now is someone who perfectly embodies their out-of-touch elitism and smug disdain for everyday Americans.
I strongly support David Hogg for chairman of the Democrat National Committee.

Social media erupted with well-deserved mockery after Hogg’s comments hit the airwaves. One user on X summed it up perfectly: “This the guy who stood on the bodies of his dead classmates to be famous, right?” Another user chimed in, “This is what happens when everyone gets a participation trophy!” Conservative commentator Michael Knowles added to the pile-on, sarcastically offering to donate to Hogg’s nonexistent campaign: “Please let me know where to send a campaign donation and if there is any maximum contribution limit.”
Hogg, who founded the March For Our Lives movement, spent the last two years attempting to make himself relevant by knocking on doors in swing states. His conclusion? Democrats are trapped in a “comfortable delusion” and need to take their “fingers out of their ears.” No kidding. This is coming from the same guy who once announced he was going to start a pillow company to take on Mike Lindell’s MyPillow empire, only for the entire project to fizzle out like a bad joke.
During his interview, Hogg lamented that Democrats come across as “out of touch” and condescending—statements so painfully obvious even a broken clock is right twice a day. He went on to praise Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as a shining example of relatable leadership, apparently forgetting that Walz’s policies have alienated voters in his state just like the rest of the Democratic Party’s far-left agenda.
If Hogg thinks his self-righteous grandstanding is the cure for what ails the DNC, he’s delusional. The Democrats don’t need more clueless figureheads preaching from ivory towers—they need a reality check. Meanwhile, conservatives should be thrilled at the thought of Hogg taking a leadership role. After all, nothing says “MAGA landslide” quite like Democrats handing the reins to a 24-year-old activist whose biggest talent is generating Twitter memes.
