Red-State Leaders Rush To Protect Women From Far-Left Lunatics

A bill that would impose limitations on transgender athletes competing at the collegiate level has received support from almost 80 Texas House Republicans who have signed on as co-sponsors.

Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick (R) already support the legislation.

Currently, 77 Republican House members have signed House Bill 23, which was written by State Representative Valoree Swanson. Consequently, the Act has the backing of the majority of the Texas House.

According to the Texas Tribune, “the measure would prevent transgender males from participating in men’s collegiate sports teams and transgender women from joining women’s college sports teams.”

However, if there were no women’s teams in that sport, the legislation would allow trans athletes to join a men’s team. Since there is a lot of sports competition between both private and public schools, the bill would also expand the present limitations on trans athletes in K–12 public schools to those in private institutions.

Following Governor Greg Abbott’s address to a group of young conservatives in Feb., in which he pledged to forbid men who identify as women from participating in college sports in Texas, the Republican House has begun to come around to supporting the legislation.

The bill’s author, Valoree Swanson, says it is crucial for preserving “fairness in women’s sports,” but it is anticipated to face fierce opposition from Dems. and probably even some Republicans during the next three months of the legislative session.

However, it’s reasonable to predict that the bill’s primary goal of prohibiting biological males who identify as women from participating in women’s sports at the college level will become law in some form because it has majority support in the House and the full support of the governor and lieutenant governor.

  1. Males are males from the day they are born, as females are females from the day they are born!!! You can do whatever you want to your body, but what you are will never change!!!!!!!

  2. when are the animal rights people going to start trans pets (cat & dogs) surgery? Surely they don’t want to be bigger hypocrites…. than they are already

  3. Why don’t we have three sports designations in high school, college and professional sports?
    Male, female and trans?
