According to a recent poll, a large majority of midterm voters support a countrywide crackdown on employers in the United States who choose to hire illegal aliens over American citizens.
According to the Rasmussen Reports/NumbersUSA poll, 69 percent of midterm election voters support the federal government mandating U.S. firms to screen job candidates through the electronic E-Verify system to make sure that illegal aliens are not employed over American citizens and lawful immigrants.
A majority of all racial demographics support countrywide mandatory E-Verify, including 73% of Hispanic Americans, 70% of black Americans, and 68% of white Americans.
Similarly, 69 percent of swing voters, 57 percent of Democrats, and 83 percent of Republicans support Congress passing mandatory E-Verify. The labor policy also has 71 percent support among non-college educated people, who are most likely to compete for jobs with illegal immigrants.

In general, pollsters found that 65 percent of midterm voters support rules that prohibit firms from recruiting illegal foreigners for American jobs. This includes 66% of Hispanic Americans, 59% of black Americans, and 67% of white Americans, as well as 66% of swing voters and 87% of Republicans.
Again, non-college educated voters — those who are most likely to compete against illegal aliens in the job market — stated they want to see national laws implemented to start cracking down on firms hiring illegal aliens by a 69 percent majority.
On a broad scale, President Joe Biden’s government has used a workaround to channel undocumented migrants and illegal aliens into American jobs. In the last two years, the program has permitted at least hundreds of thousands of people to enter the U.S. labor market with work permits authorized by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) agency.
Republicans in Congress, although promising to support mandatory E-Verify, have yet to propose policy prescriptions to stem the enormous inflow of undocumented people and illegal aliens on work permits into the U.S. labor market.
While at minimum seven million illegal immigrants work in the United States today, 11.6 million Americans are unemployed yet want full-time work, and then another 3.7 million are underemployed.
The Rasmussen Reports/NumbersUSA poll included over 1,700 respondents with a margin of error of +/- 2 percentage points.
