New Poll Shows Americans Don’t Agree With Biden’s War Ambitions

The Russo-Ukrainian conflict is seen as being at a standstill by nearly half of the American voters on February 24, 2023, the anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Only 19% of likely American voters believe Russia is winning the battle in Ukraine, according to a recent Rasmussen poll. 21% of respondents said they think Ukraine is winning, a sharp drop from 32% in December. Up from 38% in December, 46% now see the Russo-Ukrainian confrontation as practically at a standstill. 14% of people are unsure of the outcome.

President Joe Biden received an excellent or good rating from 41% of voters for how he handled the Ukraine crisis. In contrast, 37% of voters awarded Biden a failing grade for his handling of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

Voters have divided opinions on how much the US should be doing to help Ukraine fend off the Russian invasion, with 35% saying it is going too far. 28% think that Ukraine receives the ideal level of US economic and military assistance.

Voters from all parties, including 33% Democrats, 21% Republicans, and 29% Independents, feel that the US isn’t doing enough to help Ukraine. Republicans (44%) are more inclined to think the US is intervening too much in the Russo-Ukrainian conflict than Democrats (26%) or independent voters (36%) are.

Democratic voters—31%, Republicans—15%, and independents—16%—all think Ukraine is winning the conflict. In contrast, roughly 40% of Democrats, 47% of Republicans, and 51% of independent people think that the Russo-Ukrainian conflict has reached a deadlock.

Because Ukraine won’t hand Russia a stunning defeat as many in the corporate media have been anticipating, Americans are gradually growing weary of this confrontation. The US should try to bring this proxy war to a close as much as it can in order to preserve geopolitical stability and free up its attention for more urgent home issues.
