New Agency Coming: Dedicated To Helping Illegals

The Oklahoma government, which claims to be conservative, is using public money to give more work visas and driver’s licenses to people who are in the country illegally.

In a KOCO 5 news story, Oklahoma Secretary of Public Safety Tricia Everest said, “The majority of people who are not here legally are super smart.”

Everest is the Chair of the Oklahoma State Work Permits and Visas Task Force. Republican Governor Kevin Stitt chose her to hold this position. “Finding ways to help newcomers get their visas, paperwork, and permits” is what KOCO 5 calls the bureaucracy’s “main goal.” One of their plans is to make a new organization called the “Office of New Oklahomans” to help bring more strangers to Oklahoma.

Everest thinks that her state needs illegal immigrants to stay competitive in a market that is becoming more international.

“If we have non-citizens coming to our universities to learn and become experts in areas where we need them, that would be great. We need nurse help. The country doesn’t have enough visas for them to even practice,” Everest said.

“Everyone who comes here to learn has to go back to their home country and go through the process all over again?” Everest said.

Everest and her friends are thinking about giving illegal immigrants “driver privilege” cards, which are like driver’s licenses and would let criminals drive.
