This image has exploded on social media over the past few days in an attempt to showcase just how terrible President Donald Trump is.
First, we have to address the elephant in the room — one of the presidents pictured is President George W. Bush in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, which the left maintains to this day was one of the worst examples of a federal disaster response. Even though the Louisiana state government bares much more of the blame for telling residents not to evacuate, this is one of the talking points Democrats have used to demonize Bush for years.
Second, let’s talk about President Trump’s decision to go full rock star mode during his recent visit to Puerto Rico. Instead of calmly handing out emergency supplies as he did in Texas and Florida, the president decided to have some fun by tossing paper towels into the crowd gathered in front of him.
Was it a smart decision? Probably not — even less so considering that Trump should realize how the media will treat him at this point.
But is this indicative of some sort of racist attitude on behalf of the president? There’s really no evidence to suggest that it is, but nevertheless the left seems committed to driving this message home for the rest of Trump’s term.
