Liberal Tweet Claims Dreamers are All Perfect

There’s nothing quite like blanket statements like these to make your head spin.

According to this tweet, the so-called “DREAMers” can do no harm whatsoever to the United States, therefore any policy that is somewhat critical of their immigration status is the epitome of bigotry and hatred.

Now, there have been studies showing that the incarceration rate for individuals protected by the infamous DACA program are relatively low, sitting slightly below the average for the native population. To be fair, crime statistics are often skewed by various demographic information, but a non-holistic look at these numbers does show that less than 1 percent of Dreamers are incarcerated in America.

However, this number isn’t zero. Moreover, this isn’t even the argument.

President Donald Trump is targeting the DACA program because it was put into effect with absolutely no consent from Congress. By passing the buck to the nation’s lawmakers, Trump is effectively returning to a legislative process that President Obama completely ignored.

There is a chance that the Democratic left will get what it wants here, considering that many Republicans oppose stripping DACA away entirely.

The point is that there are arguments to be made on this issue from both sides, but this tweet presents nothing of the sort.
