On Thursday, the White House revealed a plan to tighten down on artificial intelligence (AI), amid rising worries that the sophisticated technology may one day replace humans, assigning Vice President Kamala Harris as “AI Czar” in charge of the new program.
The White House said that Harris, who has the lowest support rating of any contemporary vice president, would oversee the endeavor as AI czar, with a $140 million budget.
“The CEOs of four American firms at the forefront of AI research will be met today by Vice President Harris and top Administration officials,” according to the Biden administration.
To examine how possible hazards associated with AI may be decreased, Harris is meeting with Microsoft, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
The Biden administration said “that while AI is one of the most potent technologies of our time, in order to make use of the benefits it offers, we must first reduce its threats.”
Seven new institutes dedicated to AI research will open their doors, bringing the total number of such institutions in the US to 25. Following that, the organizations will request that firms like Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT, “participate in a public evaluation of AI systems.”
“President Biden has made it plain that, when it comes to artificial intelligence, we must put people and communities first by encouraging responsible innovation that advances the common good while defending our society, security, and economy,” according to the White House.
The Biden administration noted, “Importantly, this means that businesses have a fundamental obligation to ensure the safety of their products prior to when they are deployed or made available to the public.”
The widely used ChatGPT chatbot from OpenAI, which students now use to cheat in class, has created an intense discussion over AI. As AI develops, it will eventually be able to create “deepfakes,” which would deceive users into believing they are seeing or hearing real humans.
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has also raised fears about AI getting so sophisticated that it exceeds human intellect and starts to think on its own instead of listening to humans and perhaps becoming a conscious, humanity-hating species.
Musk was one of over 1,000 AI specialists who signed an open letter asking for a six-month moratorium on AI research while hazards are assessed.
A former OpenAI researcher who worked to develop the ChatGPT AI Chatbot recently warned on a podcast that if AI achieves “human level” thinking, the human species faces “a 50/50 likelihood of doom.”

From day one Biden and his administration ( Obama making the decisions) have taken this country on a destructive path. Border crisis illegals / criminals running rampant, drugs are killing millions by the hour, prices of food is rising by the day, male transgenders are invading women’s sports and they keep saying everything is under control, NO it’s not under control it’s OUT of control!! They want people to believe their lies, their deception because if they keep repeating these lies they hope people will believe. People going into stores and taking items and walking out without paying for them. What the hell is going on? As far as Kameltoe being in charge of anything, I wouldn’t trust her to watch grass grow. Both Biden and Harris are compulsive liars they always have been, and the one thing that they have in common is to make sure this country is turned into a dictatorship, a one world order. We still have over a year and a half to put up with this mess. I am not sure if we will have enough strength to keep going, but we need to hold on, we need to come together as a nation. Liberals can’t win in 2024, our future generations are depending on us.
