Judge Annihilates Blue State Gun Grabbers

This week, U.S. District Judge Peter Sheridan declared the AR-15 prohibition in New Jersey to be unconstitutional.

Sheridan made his choice after considering the Heller (2008) and Bruen (2022) Supreme Court rulings in relation to New Jersey’s “assault weapons” prohibition.

“The Colt AR-15 for self-defense use within the house is unlawful under Bruen and Heller,” the author said in reference to the AR-15 provision of the Assault Firearms Law.

Sheridan clearly stated that Bruen “makes any categorical restriction on guns that are widely used for self-defense unlawful,” according to the New Jersey Monitor.

Sheridan did, however, uphold New Jersey’s “assault weapons” ban’s prohibition on “large capacity” magazines.

Attorney General Matt Platkin (D) of New Jersey declared he would file an appeal against Sheridan’s decision on AR-15s.
