John McCain Should Just Become a Democrat

After days of back-and-forth, Republican Senator John McCain is suddenly back on the left’s good side after voting against the so-called “skinny repeal” for Obamacare.

Of course, this came just days after the Arizona lawmaker was the butt of every joke. After being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, the senator decided to return to work early for the important vote. This prompted a typical response from the left – with various memes suggesting he was out to strip all Americans of their health insurance.

The meme here recalls a famous scene from the Star Wars saga, specifically from the third installment to the franchise. Toward the end of Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker confronts his father Darth Vader, imploring him to ditch the Empire.

First of all, just about every prominent member of the Republican Party has been compared to Darth Vader in some way — especially during the Bush administration.

The comparison here just doesn’t add up. If your condition for virtue is simply voting for an entitlement that artificially inflates the value of health care goods and services, chances are you have a substandard view of morality.
