Is This What CNN Meant By “Full Semi-Automatic”?

Not long ago, a segment which aired on CNN went viral showing a military veteran telling the “truth” about the infamous AR-15 rifle.

In the video, the man in question was shown firing the semi-automatic rifle at a shooting range, telling the reporter next to him that he was operating a weapon of war and other half-truths. One of the more humorous parts of the clip came from the man’s description of the firearm as a “full semi-automatic”, implying there is some super-serious level of semi-automatic we’ve never heard of before.

Just for a point of clarity — just about every weapon you’ve ever seen outside of the movies is semi-automatic, with revolvers and some shotguns being the real only exceptions. There is no “full semi-automatic” as CNN would have us believe — but that doesn’t push an agenda, so they made no point to clarify on their end.

This picture demonstrates the level of hysteria we are now seeing with how guns are described and reported on by the mainstream press. The only people this propaganda seems to work on are people who have never actually held a gun before. You can bet that this is exactly what the anti-gun lobby is counting on.
