Another week, another violent crime committed by an illegal alien who never should have been here in the first place. This time, it’s a Senegalese national who was arrested after illegally crossing our southern border in October 2023 and then—unbelievably—released into the country by the Biden administration. What happened next should infuriate every law-abiding American: this man, Bass Ndiaye, went on to stab multiple ICE officers and fellow detainees inside a federal immigration facility in New York City.
This is not just an isolated incident. It’s the direct result of years of reckless, open-border policies pushed by the radical Left and enforced by Democratic sanctuary politicians. These policies have turned our cities into playgrounds for criminals and made our law enforcement officers targets of violence. ICE agents, who risk their lives daily to protect this country, are now facing an 830% increase in assaults. That’s not just a statistic—it’s a cry for help.
Let’s be clear: Ndiaye wasn’t some downtrodden refugee seeking asylum. He was arrested by Border Patrol last October and should have been deported. Instead, thanks to the Biden administration’s catch-and-release approach, he was turned loose to roam free in our country. Not surprisingly, within months he was arrested again—this time in New York, where he went on a stabbing spree with a pair of scissors inside a federal building.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, Ndiaye now faces one count of assaulting a U.S. officer with a deadly weapon. If convicted, he could serve up to 20 years in prison. But the question Americans should be asking is: why was he ever in a position to commit this crime in the first place?
“This criminal illegal alien, who was released into the country under President Biden, will face justice for his violent crimes,” said Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. And while justice is welcome, it’s cold comfort to the officers who were stabbed and the Americans put at risk because of this administration’s failure to secure our borders.
And it’s not just Ndiaye. Just this past weekend, an off-duty Border Patrol agent was shot during an attempted burglary in Manhattan. The suspects? You guessed it—illegal aliens with extensive rap sheets. Yet New York City, under Mayor Eric Adams, continues to ignore ICE detainers and release these criminals back onto our streets.
“These violent thugs have committed a smorgasbord of crimes and been arrested multiple times and yet New York continued to release them,” McLaughlin added. “How many people have to die, how many lives have to be changed forever for Mayor Adams and his sanctuary politician ilk to end these performative politics?”
That’s the real question. How many more innocent Americans have to get stabbed, shot, raped, or killed before Democrats admit that their sanctuary city nonsense is a complete and utter failure? These aren’t just policy disagreements. This is life and death. This is the difference between a nation that stands for law and order and one that allows chaos to fester in the name of political correctness.
Under President Trump, border security was a priority. The wall was being built. ICE was empowered. Criminal aliens were deported. But under Biden, the borders were flung wide open, and now we’re reaping the whirlwind. Thankfully, in 2025, we have a president who is once again putting Americans first and restoring sanity to our immigration system.
But we have a long road ahead. The mess the Biden administration left behind isn’t going to be cleaned up overnight. It’s going to take grit, vigilance, and a renewed commitment to enforcing the law—at every level of government.
Enough is enough. The American people deserve safe communities, secure borders, and leaders who will defend them—not illegal aliens with weapons and politicians who look the other way. This isn’t just about immigration. It’s about sovereignty, safety, and the rule of law. And if the Left won’t take that seriously, it’s up to us to make sure they never hold power again.
