This satirical take on Mel Gibson’s The Patriot made us laugh, and we’re confident you’ll have the same reaction.
For those unfamiliar with the reference, the picture is a reworking of a scene from the movie, where Gibson plays a militia leader during the Revolutionary War. At one point in the film, Gibson’s character launches a ploy to liberate his captured comrades, tricking British soldiers into freeing his fellow militia members.
After riding into an enemy camp under a flag of truce, the protagonist is questioned by the film’s villains. Gibson’s character claims he captured several British soldiers, and is willing to trade them for his own men. This turns out to be a ruse, but not before British officers press him on the specifics.
In the original film, Gibson’s character claims the false captives refused to give him their names, so he instead lists their ranks. In this meme, ranks are replaced with modern identities concocted by the left, giving us a humorous glimpse into what an armed insurrection led by progressives would actually look like.
We were not disappointed.
