According to the modern progressive left, the top part of this picture represents the true spectrum of gender — an eternally growing rainbow of identities.
In recent years, this ideal has become an increasingly important part of the progressive agenda. Schools and college campuses have placated to this by making it a part of their curriculums, and academics publicly endorse the idea that an individual is fully capable of waking up one day with a different “gender” — and that the rest of society should respond accordingly.
For a political movement that likes to defame its opponents as “anti-science”, this sure takes a lot of mental gymnastics to process.
The heightened visibility of transgenders and their “gender-fluid” peers has for many created the illusion that this movement is larger than it actually is. As this image correctly points out, it’s not very large at all. This isn’t to suggest that some individuals aren’t worthy of basic human respect — but it does call into question why such a small portion of the population is given so much leeway on the cultural conversation.
