Maybe we’re just a bunch of old fogies here around the Facts Not Memes mobile headquarters, but we can remember a time when people in America believed that everyone’s personal medical information was private. You know – in a “keep it to yourself” sort of way?
Not too many years ago in the USA, you didn’t have to announce who you voted for (and no one would ask), you didn’t have to check an ideological box on a form before buying a pair of shoes, and your medical information was your business. But not anymore, apparently!
We can’t even count the number of people we’ve bumped into recently who are eager to tell us that they’ve been vaccinated. Well, good for you, Skippy! So is our dog! But we didn’t want to know and don’t care.
It seems like there’s three types of people in the US these days: Those who are eager to tell you they’ve been vaccinated, those who are eager to tell you they’re never going to take the vaccine, and the rest of us who are keeping our mouths shut because its “nunya bizness!”
