Former President Donald Trump spoke at his campaign gathering in Uniondale, New York about how gun owners don’t vote enough. He told them to go out and vote in November.
Trump said, “It’s interesting that Evangelical Christians don’t vote very often. If they did, you’d never lose.”
“Gun owners…don’t vote,” he said, “meaning they don’t vote as often as they should; very few people vote. People who own guns need to go vote.”
Trump has always stood up for the Second Amendment, and the National Rifle Association (NRA) backs him in this race, just like they did in 2016 and 2020.
On August 8, 2024, A reporter asked him if the attempt on his life had changed how he felt about owning guns. That was almost a month after the first attempt on his life.
Trump said that the horrible attack did not change his belief that “people need guns for security” in the United States.
Trump also said, “You can’t take away guns because people need them for safety. Kamala Harris wants to take away everyone’s guns.”
