After world-renowned celebrity and media personality Oprah Winfrey delivered her “presidential” speech during the Golden Globes award show, it seemed as if every progressive on the planet suddenly had a change of heart when it came to the prospect of billionaires running the American government.
Of course, this is precisely the opposite stand they took in 2016 when now-President Donald Trump began gaining traction during the election season. A billionaire business mogul, they argued, is simply too wrapped up in self-interest to ever be truly fit for public service.
Apparently, this standard evaporates the minute one of their own throws a hat into the ring.
Make no mistake — Oprah Winfrey is one of the most successful women to have ever lived. In fact, her net worth is actually a bit higher than Trump’s. But, doesn’t this make her the very thing progressives despise — a “one-percenter” with ambitious political goals?
The hypocrisy of the left continues to know no boundaries or reason.
