CNN Releases the Most Pretentious Ad of All Time

In case you missed the chance to log into Twitter earlier this week, you missed CNN’s display of pure advertising genius…that is, in making the perfect parody of themselves.

CNN’s ad featured a static image of an apple, with a narrator reaffirming that the fruit in question was in fact an apple. Others might try to tell you that it’s a banana, the narrator went on, but that wouldn’t change the fact that it is indeed an apple.

The ad closed with the phrase “facts first”, followed by CNN’s logo popping up mid-screen.

This is of course the same company that is still digging through the dirt to tell the story that President Donald Trump was placed into power by the Kremlin itself, that former President Barack Obama helped the economy by presiding over a “jobless recovery”, and that groups like Black Lives Matter and Antifa regularly stage “peaceful protests” to drive their point home.

Whatever credibility CNN ever had is in tatters, and this meme captures that sentiment perfectly.
