These are pretty troubling numbers to read…
Since the passing of the Civil Rights Act in 1965 and the subsequent affirmative action programs that came about as a result, the Democratic Party has billed itself as the go-to for African Americans and the rest of the country’s racial minorities. But, what has the party actually done for this demographic?
Based on the numbers referenced in this picture, it’s a wonder how the DNC has any black supporters left at all. While the 1960s were objectively a rough time to be a racial minority — especially in the American South — blacks were still able to enjoy a respectable standard of living relative to the time.
Decades later, more blacks than ever are dependent on government assistance programs, more black children grow up without fathers, and a larger percentage of the black community in America at large falls below the poverty line.
Of course, the typically leftist response here is that their social programs didn’t go far enough — something they like to blame on conservative opposition. But, the truth is that conservatives have been able to block precisely none of these programs, and the only change we’ve seen are blacks being less able to take care of their own without government help.
Thankfully, under Republican leadership, things are finally beginning to improve. As President Donald Trump mentioned in his State of the Union address, black unemployment is now at its lowest point in history.
