Border Patrol Issues Dire Warning to Migrants Rushing the Border

Juarez, Mexico 10-21-2022: Venezuelan migrants cross the Rio Grande, the natural border between Mexico and the United States, families seek to request asylum.

The Biden administration’s open-border policy continues to invite chaos, as the U.S. Border Patrol in the El Paso Sector is now forced to issue dire warnings to migrants attempting illegal crossings during the treacherous winter months. The Border Patrol is effectively saying what every rational person already knows: crossing the U.S.-Mexico border illegally is dangerous, especially during winter. Yet, thanks to leftist policies, the message seems to be falling on deaf ears.

Chief Patrol Agent Anthony Scott Good summed it up perfectly: “Crossing the border illegally is never safe, but the risks are even greater during the winter months.” Freezing temperatures, hypothermia, frostbite—it’s a recipe for tragedy. Add the unforgiving terrain of deserts, mountains, and remote wilderness, and the danger is amplified tenfold. But what does the left care? They’re too busy virtue-signaling about “open borders” to acknowledge the human cost of their recklessness.

Let’s not forget the role of transnational criminal organizations in this mess. These cartels aren’t offering warm blankets and hot cocoa. They’re exploiting vulnerable migrants for profit, often leaving them to die in the wilderness or worse. In Fiscal Year 2024 alone, the El Paso Sector reported 176 migrant deaths linked to illegal smuggling schemes. That’s 176 preventable tragedies, but don’t expect the Democrats to lose any sleep over it. They’re too busy blaming everyone else.

District Attorney Sam Bregman hit the nail on the head: “The difficult and dangerous conditions that occur at this time of year are exactly what criminal organizations use to exploit migrants who are desperately seeking safety and shelter.” Yet, rather than admit their policies encourage this exploitation, the left doubles down. Amnesty International USA’s Amy Fischer, for example, deflects blame to Mexico’s southern border while ignoring the obvious—if the U.S. enforced its borders, there wouldn’t be a northern border crisis.

Thankfully, real leadership is on the horizon. Donald Trump, set to reassume the presidency in January, has promised to bring sanity back to our immigration policies. His plans include reinstating the “Remain in Mexico” program, ending the disastrous catch-and-release policy, and deploying the National Guard to secure the border. Trump’s approach is simple: enforce the law, dismantle the cartels, and stop incentivizing illegal crossings.

Meanwhile, Democrats will continue their clown show, pretending that waving everyone across the border is compassionate while ignoring the suffering their policies cause. It’s classic leftist logic: preach compassion, practice chaos. But come January 20, order will be restored, and America will finally have a president who puts its citizens first.
