On this week’s “Fox News Sunday,” former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that the Biden administration’s exchange of convicted arms dealer Viktor Bout for WNBA star Brittney Griner provided incentives for bad individuals to take other popular people.
“I’m delighted Brittney Griner is back home,” Pompeo remarked. “They were successful in this endeavor. But my aim was always to return every American while avoiding the possibility of more Americans getting taken. There is no denying today that if you kidnap a celebrity, the probability of retrieving one of your bad people back out of American control is higher, and I believe for people out there of prominence, it is more probable they will be held hostage today, and that is certainly not a good policy.”
“We were working extremely hard on each of the cases, particularly Paul Whelan’s, throughout my time in service,” he added. “We were communicating with the Russians at various levels, with our ambassador on the field in Russia.”
“The Trump admin. has always been quite clear, we were not going to trade bad men for celebrities because that provides the wrong incentives for the bad people,” Pompeo stated. “It is detrimental to American national security. It’s not good for those that travel all over the world.”
Seems Russia or others need only falsely retain Americans untill Democrats take office to get what they want in exchange for an American life.
Get rid of all Dems .they are all unamerican.big time. They are like a terrorist group.
