Apparently We’re Back to Punching Nazis

Liberal partisans have been comparing Republicans to Nazis for decades now, but their more overt tactics are beginning to reveal severe ideological weaknesses.

In this image, we see Marvel’s Captain America punching a villain with a Nazi swastika branded on his chest. The dialogue caption was obviously replaced, with the villain now saying “so much for the tolerant left.”

The point here is obvious — by defending free speech, conservatives are clearly revealing themselves to be Nazi sympathizers.

For the sake of this argument, let’s ignore the fact that Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party (full name: National Socialist German Worker’s Party) was a full-fledged left-wing movement. We can also ignore the fact that the Nazi government was one that dramatically expanded the German welfare state, spent itself into oblivion on pointless military pursuits, and rested its entire platform on identity politics.

It’s true the Republican Party has little (if any) ideological overlap with this movement, but simply pointing out these glaring differences has done little to change minds.

Instead, let’s focus on an area that the left likes to think it owns: freedom of expression.

Political speech is an absolute freedom in the United States. This is why even Black Panther events are given police protection, despite the movement’s open hostility toward law enforcement as a core concept.

So yes, we will continue to mock the left for meeting this speech with violence, because freedom of speech doesn’t protect you from opinions you don’t like — even the vile views of the Nazi party.
