The great USAID purge is in full swing, and fired workers are getting just 15 minutes to clear out their desks before the doors slam shut.
After years of unchecked foreign spending, President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have finally put the brakes on USAID’s bloated bureaucracy. The controversial agency, long accused of wasting billions in taxpayer money on sketchy foreign projects, was placed on ice last month after Trump froze all foreign aid and ordered a full review of where American dollars were actually going.
Now, 1,600 USAID employees based in the U.S. are either out the door or on their way out, while overseas staff are being offered voluntary return trips home. The process is brutal, efficient, and exactly what Washington deserves.
A new internal notice sent to employees details how workers will have to show ID, pass through metal detectors, and be escorted to their desks by security personnel. Once inside, they’ll have just 15 minutes to grab their things and get out. If someone has “a significant amount of personal belongings”, they can ask for more time—but only if security approves. The message is loud and clear: USAID’s days of running wild with American tax dollars are over.
And, in case anyone thought about making a scene, the agency made sure to remind workers that firearms, explosives, and—yes—nunchucks are banned.
Democrats are panicking over Trump’s swift dismantling of USAID’s wasteful empire. Rep. Norma Torres (D-Calif.) called the move “reckless”, claiming that the foreign aid freeze has caused devastation and put lives at risk—both abroad and at home”. But that phony outrage doesn’t change the facts: USAID has funneled billions into programs with zero accountability, often funding corrupt governments, sketchy NGOs, and bloated globalist projects that do nothing for American citizens.
Meanwhile, Rubio is slashing nearly 5,800 USAID contracts and 4,100 State Department awards, leaving only the most essential programs intact. The Trump administration isn’t playing games—the message is clear: America First is back, and the days of unchecked foreign spending are done.
A federal judge tried to force the White House to continue funding foreign aid, but the Supreme Court swiftly blocked that ruling. This fight is far from over, but one thing is certain—Trump is making good on his promise to dismantle the globalist swamp.
